Waitress was the best. We are planning to return more than one time. The food was excellent

Poor management and customer service.Took 5 times to get water.The bill is deceiving on a party of 10, due to the automatic gratuity. When a server argues with a customer and a manager shows no respect, professionalism and keeping your customers happy is your loss. A review is much needed in order for your clients to return.Good luck if your business survives.We won’t be back.

Great beer great food

Great fathers day meal and Megan was a delight. I was here before under a different name and they have really fixed the place up nice. I highly recommend.

BEST BRUNCH AT SML. As a year round Moneta resident, finding a quality breakfast/Brunch has been difficult. Restaurants come and go, quality fluctuates... But not Jakes. THEY HAVE A BREAKFAST COCKTAIL MENU!!! Consistent good food quality and service. Also my vote for "Best Burgers at SML".

Island crush drink was great! No complaints about the food. Great service.

Great place to boat to at Smith Mountain Lake near Roanoke, VA.

This place is right off the main road next to a marina and a campground. Our lunch was tasty but kinda expensive...$16 for crab dip at this "casual dining" restaurant. Our server was amazing - friendly and very attentive. Nice atmosphere... on the water.

Been here a few times. Love there fried oyster and special choices of burgers. I wish they would start serving those pretzels with whole grain mustard again.

Live music was a total plus. Part of the bonus to eating outside even in the heatwave. Fortunately the umbrellas provided us some shade. The whole atmosphere was so fun due to the pirate festivities and upbeat staff that it truly was like we were vacationing afar at some tropical getaway. Pirate punch is freaking amaaaazing and the pork with the pineapple mango sauce was perfect. I don't even typically like mangos but it was yum yum!

Great lakeside gem. The food is delicious with a variety of options to please the pickiest eater or the new age foodie. They constant have the best draft beer selection on the Smith Mountain Lake and the service is pleasant.

Peaceful lake views. Great burgers, pizza and fries. Friendly staff. Large variety of craft brew selections. Clean. Nice bar area. Have been going here for many years, our favorite restaurant on the lake.

Nice atmosphere, good food, friendly and efficient service. Fish and chips and stuffed flounder were excellent. The buffalo tots are a must!

hit or miss. first visit the food and service was awesome, our last visit the service was slow and the food not up to par. one of our diners was brought the wrong order but ate it anyway since it had taken so long to arrive.

My new favorite place to eat on SML. Dockside eating, with slips for your boat. Clean, friendly, fast, arm's delicious. Excellent menu with something for everyone (including the family dog), and a broad selection of beer on tap. I just wish they didn't have so many IPAs.

I had the tuna Panini tonight, it was seared and cooked to perfection. Some of the best views on the lake.

It was pretty average, but I did not get the seafood. I came here during pirate week and that was the highlight of the week. Sitting outside (because of Covid) you watched the battle unfold between boats right in front of you! Such a unique place in the little cove area on the water.

The new Fry Day fish on Thursday deal was fantastic! Service was quick and friendly. We had a large party of 13 and Everyone was satisfied. We will be returning!

Absolutely loved this place. Wonderful atmosphere, great servers and most importantly, awesome food!!! Everything was fried to perfection, (no grease dripping from your food and a perfect crunch!)everything had a perfect crunch as it should. 5 stars! Will be coming back.

I joined family members for a meal there, and I was disappointed with the wine selection. By that I mean that there is no selection. They serve only Gallo wines in mini bottles, so I had water. I feel that the menu is overpriced. We can get better prices at most restaurants at the lake. I would like to see Jake's Place offer better incentives for local patrons to dine there.

Extreamly high priced. Inside or outside dining. Drinks from bar are way high priced.

This is a nice restaurant located on smith mountain lake. It is the off season and they were not busy but the food was cooked fresh and fast. The food was really good i will be visiting again when i am in the area.

We will definitely NEVER be returning to this place. We showed up as a party of 11 at 7:00 on Saturday evening. Was told it would be half hour wait. We were seated at 7:30. Order was placed. An hour and 10 minutes later food still was not served. My mother in law asked manager why food wasn't ready. Manager said order wasn't given to him till 8:09....hmmm. He proceeded to come to our two tables and tell us the entire order was cancelled. He sent everyone away without their food. Three of the 11 were children. Read other reviews. This place has a definite management issue. You're better off taking you're business elsewhere....like Waller's down by Crystal Shore Marina

Nice staff food was pretty good

We lived in SML until 3 years ago and came back for a visit. Of course we had to return to Jake’s place. We were so happy to discover that the atmosphere and food was as wonderful as we remembered. The mussels and crab dip were out of this world! Our server Nicole was delightful! She was so friendly and efficient. We will definitely visit again on our next trip!

Had good food good atmospherevery clean but the service left a lot to be desired if you would like to get served you need to sit outside we sit there 20 minutes with our meal never seen a waitress one-time never got to refill never brought us napkins

Great food and great at stealing your sunglasses. When I get my sunglass back I'll give you five stars.
